Narimiya Hiroki To Star In Taiyou Ni Yakarete

One of Japan's rising star actor Narimiya Hiroki will be returning to the theatrical stage this July for a performance in "Taiyou ni Yakarete" (translated as 'burnt by the sun'). This is directed by Kuriyama Tamiya and is based off a film 'Burnt by the Sun' that won an academy award for Best Foreign Language Film at the Cannes Festival (1994). His co-star will be Kaga Takeshi who will play as the main villain. On an interesting note, Narimiya will showcase his first piano performance for the first time on stage!

Last time he acted on stage was four years ago co-starring with Oguri Shun in "Oki ni Mesu Mama" (As you like it) in 2007.

He commented on his comeback to stage, "I have thought of returning to theatrical for a while now... I've been acting for 11 years but I think being on stage for me at this point in my career is necessary. The strong support from fans and my interest in Kuriyama's work has made me decide to return to stage.

The performance will be held at Tennozu Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo on 24.7.2011 to 9.8.2011 and then shown at other regions of the country.
